Mission

Rooted in the traditions of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit and of St Clare herself the mission of St Clare Home is to improve the quality of life for our family and community through care and service.

St Clare Home is a 47-bed skilled nursing facility nestled in the heart of downtown Newport providing 24-hour skilled and non-skilled nursing care. As a health care agency of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence, St. Clare Home strives to serve the needs of individuals with varied health issues and diagnosis keeping in mind the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents. Diagnostic categories might include cardiac, neurological, cerebrovascular, pulmonary, cognitive impairment and terminal conditions. Care is available for all ages, 18 and over, but the majority of St Clare's residents are ages 65 and over.

How We Rate

The federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and state agencies oversee the quality of nursing homes. Nursing homes are rated overall and on health inspections, nursing home staffing and quality measures. St. Clare Home consistently receives four or five stars (out of five) in all categories and has been completely deficiency-free on 7 of its last 11 surveys.
